From a general perspective, a lot of things about the former Seigaku buchou had not changed. He was still the contemplative and serious sort who often kept to himself--though he could probably be convinced otherwise. He was still a perfectionist; a man who sought an epitome of balance between responsibility and self-actualization. And Tezuka was still a passionate tennis player. Without a doubt, nothing could ever change that. However, through time, he had learned to set aside his childhood ambition to win and ride high in the tennis world for a more realistic path (a passage to adulthood maybe); one he had inherited from his grandfather.
It wasn't a secret. Tezuka Kunikazu had been his role model, from whom Tezuka had learned a great deal about fear, perception, leadership... most of the things that made him who he was. It was then one of the hardest moments he'd had to accept when his grandfather passed away, proud and still hoping.
Taking some of his grandfather's final words into account, Tezuka decided to pursue a track in Sports Medicine soon after, whilst the rest of his friends dreamt of worlds far beyond tennis. Although he wasn't necessarily tied into the sport, Tezuka had come to a compromise and for now, he was satisfied. Well into his second year, however, Tezuka realized that he quite liked the idea of of teaching and decided to seal the deal with a course in Education.
There were hardships ahead, he knew. And the only way to conquer these challenges was to take it all in stride.
